In addition to your yearly gift to the Annual Campaign, there are several lasting ways to show your support of the students and teacher of SPS.
Including a charitable gift in your will is the ultimate statement of support of St. Philip Catholic School. If providing a quality, Catholic faith-based education to the children of our community is important to you, please consider leaving a bequest for SPS.
Bequests allow us the ability to expand and grow in innovative ways, providing precious funding to continually enhance our curriculum and programs, improve the technology our students use on a daily basis, provide teachers the resources they need to be effective in the classroom, and maintain the overall beauty and safety of our campus. Each gift has a tremendous impact on our ability to reach greater heights of excellence in the education we provide our students.
A bequest to St. Philip Catholic School enables a donor to make a significant gift that might otherwise not be possible. A bequest may leave SPS a specific cash amount or property, or it may reserve for SPS all or a certain percentage of the property remaining after provisions for family members and other beneficiaries. The donor may stipulate whether the bequest is for the general support of the school or for a specific program offered.
Types of assets used to fund a bequest include cash, securities, real estate, retirement accounts, pension plans, life insurance contracts, boats, artwork, antiques, etc. Your gift can be designated as unrestricted - for use wherever our needs are greatest - or you may restrict the funds for a specific purpose.
Endowment funds are essential to the vitality and financial security of St. Philip Catholic School. Endowments preserve gifts in perpetuity so they can power our mission of teaching minds and touching hearts to know, love, and serve God and others.
Endowment gifts create excellence today, with the assurance that those investments will fortify the school and touch countless lives for generations to come.
An endowment is created when a donor specifies that a gift is to be invested and only the earned income on that gift may be spent on a specific purpose. An endowment may exist in perpetuity with annual income earned each year being used in support of an area of the donor’s choice. Endowment funds are invested for the long-term, and earnings from those investments help support operational expenses of the school.
Making a gift in memory of a loved one or in tribute of a student, alumnus or teacher to commemorate a special moment provides lasting benefit at St. Philip Catholic School. Memorial or tribute gifts may be designated as unrestricted or directed to a certain program or need of the school, including scholarships, athletics, technology improvements, etc.??
Each gift received in honor of or in memory of an individual is acknowledged by a note sent to the person honored or to the appropriate family member. (The amount given will not be disclosed to the family.)
St. Philip Catholic School is grateful for all types of gifts and welcomes the opportunity to work with you and your personal financial advisors to determine if one or more planned giving opportunities are appropriate for you. All inquiries and communications are held in strictest confidence and are without obligation.
